eric & tiffany — how we met

you’ll be sure to love the “he says/she says” versions of this wonderful couple. i’ve never had a couple that actually gives me such unique, varying answers to a few questions regarding their relationship–so much in fact i had to separate their responses into their own sections because there was no overlap. one thing is sure though, that they’re definitely in love with each other. hope you enjoy hearing their different perspectives! special thanks to aaron & michelle for their assistant photography!

JOSE PADILLA vs LEUKEMIA

During winter semester @ UVU, José Padilla started to notice that his frequent bloody noses that didn’t clot quickly might be a bad sign. His wife suggested that he have it checked out. Quickly, his whole world got flipped upside down and his life was on the line. Finding himself diagnosed with leukemia and not being able to work for a few months, fellow classmates from his entrepreneur class took it upon themselves to start a fundraiser to help him cover the devastating debt from the medical attention received. at the University of Utah Bridal Fair, i not only had a large booth to show off my work, but to show me in the act of actually working; i held live interviews right in the middle of my booth asking brides and grooms a single question from the list of questions i ask them during a full how-we-met video. that’s why there’s lots of background chatter. as you’ll see, people have the most interesting stories relating to first dates/kisses/etc.

ballroom 2011

Paul Cave and Giovanna Velazquez aren’t just incredibly talented on the dance floor, they’re a powerhouse ballroom couple that wins fans as well as competitions like this one. As I roamed different areas of the event, I could hear people from all corners cheering for the same couple, “153!!!” It quickly became obvious to me that this particular couple knew what they were doing and I felt honored to be their personal photographer–in fact, I kind of feel like I won 1st place with them! chris & rachel ENGAGEMENTS

we almost died on the way there, but that didn’t stop us from having an epic engagement shoot in downtown salt lake city. the area is full of textures, interesting artwork, and scenery almost entirely meant to be photographed and/or visually consumed. please enjoy some of the results from such an occasion.

zumbathon @ infinity event center

This was my 1st real experience with zumba and dang, I think I’m converted. There was SO much energy there, I couldn’t help but dance between shots. It was also the most crowded I’ve ever seen that venue–there was seriously almost no room for filming on the floor. You’ll notice that I actually got in the MIDDLE of the zumba dancers to get some intense shots… yeah, it was seriously dangerous for both my camera AND my face [fast-moving flailing arms hurt dude].
